Andrew Myers was born in Braunschweig, Germany, and raised in Ciudad Real, Spain. Although he is best known for his labor-intensive images formed from a multiplicity of screws, his work spans multiple genres and mediums, including sculpture, painting, and drawing. Given their complexity, unique subject matter, and unusual materials, Myers produces only five to ten pieces a year, each of them an experiment in art, mathematics, and creative problem solving. He is based in Laguna Beach, where he has lived and worked since attending the Laguna College of Art and Design.
