Value: $2,900
Starting bid: $1,450

Jeff Gillette is fascinated by the visuals of the worst-case-scenario landscape, which he explores in a variety of media. He has created paintings of third world slums, a post-apocalyptic Disneyland, a destroyed Las Vegas, and earthquake-ravaged cities. In his extensive travels, he makes a priority of exploring paths off the beaten track, seeking out the worst parts of cities and towns, whether in Africa, Asia, the Americas—or Costa Mesa, where he lives.
