A master of subtle color and texture, Ned Evans is inspired by the natural world, for which he has an unending passion. He has called Venice Beach home for almost forty years and is an avid surfer, finding parallels between his experiences in the waves and his work as an artist in the studio. His work has been exhibited extensively, nationally and internationally, in nearly thirty solo shows and numerous group exhibitions. Beyond his highly regarded work in painting, Evans has become a prolific sculptor of wall reliefs. To create this work—part of a series of small sculptures in the form of water drops—he hand-poured resin into a mold constructed out of surfboard foam.
