Born in 1965 in Glendale, California, Scott McMillin was immersed in Southern California car culture from an early age. He entered California State University, Long Beach, in 1983 and completed his studies at California State University, Fullerton. Upon earning his BFA in 1989, he moved to Tustin, where he continues to live and work.

The process of transforming raw materials is a key element of McMillin’s art. Using discarded car parts and scrap metal, he creates low relief artworks from society’s cast-offs, cutting the scrap into squares and rectangles and rearranging them into geometric patterns and free-form abstractions.
