Caleb Siemon and Carmen Salazar met while students at the Rhode Island School of Design. Siemon focused on glass, Salazar on sculpture. After RISD, Siemon trained with a renowned master glass blower in Venice, Italy, while Salazar moved to San Francisco, where she worked for an environmental land artist, metal and glass sculptors, and horticulturalists. Since 1999 they have been designing and producing hand-blown glass vessels and lighting fixtures in Southern California, and are based in Santa Ana. Their aesthetic reflects the balance and restraint of Scandinavian glass coupled with the evolved craftsmanship of the Muranese tradition.
