Art Stars Award

Executive Director Malcolm Warner receives Art Stars Award for Arts Leadership

The Board of Trustees and staff of Laguna Art Museum congratulate Executive Director Malcolm Warner on receiving the 2016 Art Stars Award for Arts Leadership from the Laguna Beach Arts Alliance (LBAA).

In his acceptance remarks Warner commented on his family’s move to Laguna Beach from Ft. Worth, Texas four years ago, and how they were warmly welcomed by the community. He also spoke of Laguna Art Museum’s important role in the region since its founding by the Laguna Beach Art Association in 1918 by artists William Wendt, Frank Cuprien, and Anna Hills, to name a few.

Warner also emphasized that regional museums must have a distinct focus to achieve their full potential. Laguna Art Museum’s mission to be the museum of California art provides a strong foundation on which to build this level of success.

Congratulations Malcolm!
