Artist Billy Al Bengston attends opening celebration

On Saturday, February 21 well-known Los Angeles-based artist Billy Al Bengston joined the opening celebrations for Laguna Art Museum’s three new exhibitions, Robert Henri in California: Realism, Race, and Region, 1914-1925; California Printmakers, 1950-2000; and in Barcelona: a portfolio of prints by eight Los Angeles artists. Three of Bengston’s works owned by the museum are currently on view, an early abstract painting and two prints as part of the in Barcelona exhibition. In addition to Bengston and approximately 300 museum members and guests, the opening celebration was attended by artist Dirk Hagner whose work is part of California Printmakers, 1950-2000 and Timothy J. Clark who had a selection of his watercolor paintings on display at Laguna Art Museum in the fall of 2012.
