Conversation With… Chris Beas
Thursday, June 5
Free admission, no reservations required
The Conversation With… series brings artists and other creative minds to Laguna Art Museum to discuss their practice in a casual conversation with guests. In anticipation of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Soccer, which starts on June 12, this month’s Conversation With… participant is Los Angeles-based artist Chris Beas. Beas’s work includes a series of pieces around the theme of soccer and is currently on view in The Beautiful Game: Art and Fútbol at LACMA.
Los Angeles-based Chris Beas received a BA degree from UCLA and MFA from UC San Diego. He is represented by Martha Otero Gallery in Los Angeles. His work has been widely exhibited, including at the Prague Biennale in the Czech Republic, at Casey Kaplan Gallery in New York, and at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
The museum is open for free from 5:00-9:00 p.m. the first Thursday of each month. Guests are encouraged to view the museum’s current exhibitions as well as participate in the Laguna Beach First Thursday Art Walk which takes place at area galleries from 6:00-9:00 p.m.
