Danny Heller was born in Northridge, California in 1982, and grew up in the San Fernando Valley. He earned a BA in Art, with an emphasis in painting, from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he studied under California landscape painter Hank Pitcher. After formative years spent capturing Santa Barbara’s surf landscapes, he turned his attention to retro iconography of mid-century Los Angeles. Heller established a studio in Chatsworth and now concentrates on chronicling modern American imagery, focusing on the architecture and car culture of Southern California. Here the subject is one of the mid-century modern homes built in the 1960s by the real estate developer Joseph Eichler.

Heller’s paintings have been exhibited in solo and group shows throughout California, from Santa Barbara to San Diego, and most recently at Terrence Rogers Fine Art in Palm Springs.
