Fascinated with objects and places that are overlooked or even abandoned, Donnie Molls has approached the urban and suburban scene with his own brand of realism, using a hybrid photography/painting technique. His deadpan compositions of houses and cars such as Caddy in Korea Town—a Cadillac in the Koreatown neighborhood of Los Angeles— suggest a whole strangely humorous critique of American consumerism. Molls was born in Redwood, California, and lives and works in the Hollywood Hills.
