Volunteer Opportunities
There are many important ways in which volunteers contribute, making them one of Laguna Art Museum’s richest resources. Find the volunteer opportunity that matches your interests! Please fill out the volunteer application form, and see below for more information about volunteer opportunities.

Docent Corps
The Laguna Art Museum Docent Corps serve as ambassadors to the arts by providing interactive tours for visitors and school groups. Docents seek to engage museum visitors through discussion about the art in the rotating exhibitions of the museum. The Docent Corps is a highly trained group dedicated to working with the community to increase its understanding of the visual arts.
.
The Docent Corps Provisional Class takes place at the museum once a year for a 6-month period. Training sessions are one morning per week, with an introductory session about the philosophy and expectations of becoming a Laguna Art Museum Docent. Provisional Docent Corps are instructed in a variety of subjects including: the elements of art, historical context, looking and talking about art, engaging visitors and speaking, touring with children, and more! In addition, provisional docents are invited to participate in the Docent Corps’ events and field trips. All docents must be current Laguna Art Museum Members.
.
Docent-led tours are offered at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday starting one week after each exhibition opens.

Museum Store
Do you have some spare time, like the arts, and love to read? Do you want to give back to the community, know more about the artistic legacy of Laguna Beach, Orange County, and California? Are you interested in speaking with people about the arts in an informal environment? Do you like to make sales, can use a computer? If so, Laguna Art Museum needs you to help staff the Museum Store. You must be available between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., or between the hours of 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Events
Volunteer at our special events! This involves various volunteer opportunities depending on the event. It can mean working at the registration desk, helping with an art auction, selling raffle tickets, assisting the caterers, serving champagne, etc. It’s always a lively and festive environment, and you are always working together with other volunteers, so it’s always a lot of fun! This is a great area for volunteers who can only work in the evenings or on weekends.
