Virtual Celebration

While the museum is not open for public gatherings, we are excited to invite you to a virtual Imagination Celebration program! With inspiration from the exhibition Wayne Thiebaud: Clowns, join us for a virtual tour from inside the museum, clown around in art-making workshops, smile and stretch with a yoga adventure, become a circus dance monkey, make art with LAM+LAB at Home projects, and more!

Peace Crane Workshop

Top of the World Elementary School’s PTA offers this hands-on workshop.
Suitable for families with children ages 5+

Virtual Exhibition Tour

A Laguna Art Museum docent gives a live, virtual tour of Wayne Thiebaud: Clowns.
Suitable for families with elementary aged children.

Clown Around

1:00 p.m.

LAM teaching artist Ivy Guild offers a making and playing workshop in which you will become clowns! We will make masks and props with objects found at home, then perform and play on Zoom together.
Suitable for families with children 4+
Registration closes at 12:50 p.m.

Mask making materials (could include): paper plates, markers, scissors, cotton balls, tape, glue paper, stickers, tin foil, straws, popsicle sticks

Class Clown / Payaso de la Clase

LAM’s Family Art Night with the Boys & Girls Club in Santa Ana has been inspired by clowns! This virtual exhibition, which we are calling Class Clown, highlights work from our recent Zoom workshops.

KIDZ BOP invites you to dance along to “Dance Monkey” with Egan and Ayden!

Fun Fair Yoga

This Cosmic Kids yoga adventure featuring Pedro the Penguin has a special focus on the noticing how we feel excitement and how we calm down afterwards.

Magic Tricks Lessons

Learn five easy tricks that let kids magically multiply money, levitate playing cards, vanish objects, and more! The tricks are simple and quick for kids, and great for grown-ups who would like to teach kids some easy magic tricks.

Cirque du Soleil

Enjoy a front-row seat to awe-inspiring moments of the larger-than-life shows of KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities, O, and LUZIA, with never-before seen angles that can only be experienced on your screen.

LAM+LAB at Home

LAM+LAB at Laguna Art Museum is a space for exploration and play for all ages. While the museum is temporarily closed, you can bring LAM+LAB home with art activities designed for all ages.

This original musical is inspired by the life of P.T. Barnum, celebrating the birth of show business and dreams coming to life.

The Boy, the Dog and the Clown

A story of healing, courage, and most of all, the power of knowing that magic is real for those who believe.

Mister Rogers' Neighborhood

Join the fun as Mister Rogers’ neighbors share their talents from singing to tap dancing, pantomime to accordion music.

Curious George Monkey Hoedown

In the classic season 8 episode 2, George visits the Clown College for Pepe El Loco’s Big Show and ends up in it!

What's It All About?

Each Spring, Arts Orange County presents Imagination Celebration: Orange County’s only county-wide family arts festival! Presented in partnership with the Orange County Department of Education, Imagination Celebration dynamically connects the community, arts organizations, universities, and Orange County students through meaningful arts experiences. Free admission during Imagination Celebration is made possible by a generous donation from the Laguna Art Museum Arts Council.
