LAGUNA ART MUSEUM’S PALETTE TO PALATE – JUNE 9 EVENT SOLD OUT

LAGUNA BEACH, CA (May 3, 2017) — Laguna Art Museum’s annual Palette to Palate, this year on Friday, June 9, is sold out with high demand for the exclusive event. Now it its 12th year, Palette to Palate raises funds in support of the museum’s dedication to collecting and preserving California art, providing critically acclaimed exhibitions, and enhancing art education programs for students in Orange County.

Palette to Palate will feature fine art and an incredible dining experience for an intimate group of 120 attendees. The event will showcase the culinary talents of Executive Chef Craig Strong of Studio at Montage Laguna Beach; exquisite wines from of Kamen Estate Wines; and the work of ten hand-picked artists who will join guests for the evening. A live auction with exclusive opportunities will raise additional funds in support of the museum.

Chef Strong, known for his modern French cuisine with California influences, has been Executive Chef of Studio at Montage Laguna Beach since 2009. Strong was named runner-up Chef of the Year by Angeleno magazine and was a semifinalist for the James Beard Foundation Awards for Best Chef/Pacific, and restaurants under his leadership have been recognized with Michelin stars and high ratings from the Los Angeles Times, Food & Wine, and many others.

Kamen Estate Wines, in Sonoma’s Moon Mountain District, was one of the first certified organic vineyards in California. Established by Robert Mark Kamen, with viticulturist Phil Coturri and winemaker Mark Herold, the estate produces intense, balanced, terroir-driven wines that have been recognized by The Wine Advocate, Haute Living, and others for its limited production Cabernets.

The ten participating artists – Mark Beck, Kristina Grace, Adam Mars, Danny McCaw, Courtney Murphy, Glynnis Reed, Jeff Sewell, Doug Shoemaker, Fred Stodder, and Cecil Touchon – represent a wide range of media and styles. Each of the accomplished California artists will join guests for dinner, each at tables of their own design, exhibiting their artwork nearby for an interactive and engaging experience. Guests will enjoy in-depth conversations with the artists over dinner, as well as the opportunity to acquire works of art.

The Palette to Palate Executive Committee are Chuck Fry, Sue Greenwood, Sheldon Harte, Robin Kalota, Jon Madison, Laura Rohl, and Marnie Wall. The event is generously sponsored by Montage Laguna Beach, Kamen Estate Wines, Villa Real Estate, City National Bank, Modern Luxury Orange County, Room & Board, ROHL, Found Vintage Rentals, FormDecor, Floral Creations by Enzo, and The Showpros.
