The Carole Reynolds Art Research Library at Laguna Art Museum
The Carole Reynolds Art Research Library, named after longtime volunteer librarian Carole Reynolds, houses one of the largest collection of books on California art.
The library is located in the boardroom of the administrative offices on the upper level of the museum, and is professionally staffed by volunteers. There are over 5,000 books, many with a focus on California art and artists. There are also what are called “single artist files” in the executive director’s office, in the administration offices, and in the Graphics Study Room on the lower level. Some of those historical files date from the 1930s. The library can be accessed via the museum’s website (see below), and via appointment. Although it is not a lending library, people can make an appointment to study and do research at the museum.
>> Museum members and art students are encouraged to use the library. Please make an appointment with Librarian Lindy Narver at 949.494.8971 x214.
