In conjunction with this year’s theme of sustainability, the Kids’ Paint Out was designed to educate local students about plein air painting and to cultivate the next generation of plein air painters. Students from El Morro Elementary School, Thurston Middle School, and Laguna Beach High School enjoyed a field trip to Heisler Park on Monday, October 10 where they participated in a plein air workshop led by plein air masters Rick Delanty, Greg LaRock, and Jeff Sewell.  Immediately following, the students enjoyed a cupcake reception courtesy of Simply Sweet Cakery.

These works are now on display in Laguna Art Museum’s Brief Gallery, and will be available for sale at the October 15 Collectors’ Soirée. All proceeds will benefit the school of the participating student.
