LCAD Next Generation Paint Out

In conjunction with this year’s theme of sustainability, the LCAD Next Generation Paint Out is designed to cultivate the next generation of plein air painters. This event also aims to deepen Laguna Beach’s reputation as an arts destination by giving the community and guests the opportunity to view the work of young artists from Laguna College of Art + Design.

Participating students will have just three hours to create a work of art at Heisler Park in Laguna Beach. These works will then be hung at Laguna College of Art + Design and judged by Mr. Jean Stern, Executive Director of The Irvine Museum. The first place winner will take home the prestigious $500 Laguna Plein Air Painters Association Scholarship Award. LCAD will award the second place winner with $300 and the third place winner with $200, and the top three winners will have their works hung at Laguna Art Museum. These works will be on display during the October 15 Collectors’ Soirée, and the winners will be invited to attend the celebration.

Parking for Heisler Park and Laguna Art Museum is available at meters on Cliff Drive and North Coast Highway. Street parking is available in the neighborhood east of the museum across North Coast Highway.
