Tracey Sylvester Harris’s paintings suggest elegant scenes from bygone summers. She began working with photographic source material in 2008, using anonymous snapshots found at flea markets, yard sales, and on the internet as jumping-off points. She transforms these often fading memories into paintings of dazzling light and color. Harris’s career took an exciting turn when her work was featured in the 2013 film The Face of Love. Over thirty of her paintings appear as works created by one of the main characters, an artist played by Ed Harris. She is represented by Skidmore Contemporary Art, Santa Monica.
