On Sunday, November 13, Laguna Art Museum will present the Wendt Award to renowned historical California art collector Yvonne Boseker at an exclusive dinner at The Ranch at Laguna Beach. The Wendt Award, named after one of the great Laguna Beach artists of the past who helped establish the museum, recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the knowledge and appreciation of California art. Previous recipients include Ruth Westphal, Wayne Thiebaud, and Peter Alexander.

The Wendt Award Dinner will be an elegant affair featuring a delicious farm to table style dinner, live music by Trio Dinicu, and special guest speakers including historical art curators Will South and Janet Blake, who will reflect on Yvonne and Ed Boseker’s collecting life and Yvonne’s ongoing advocacy for California art.

Proceeds from the event support the museum’s historical art collection and related exhibitions and education programs.

About the Honoree

Yvonne and her late husband, Dr. Edward H. Boseker, began collecting historical California art many years ago and their collection stands among the most substantial and important in this field. Yvonne continues to collect, to encourage scholarship and conservation efforts, and generously to show her collection to groups of interested art lovers. She has been a wonderful friend to Laguna Art Museum, where she established the Edward H. and Yvonne J. Boseker Fund for the preservation, restoration, and exhibition of historical California art in the museum’s collection. The fund has allowed the museum to carry out conservation treatments on a number of paintings that were previously unfit for exhibition, bringing them back close to their original splendor for future generations to enjoy.
