Amanda Kazemi‘s black and white charcoal drawings weave together the duality she’s experienced along her healing and growth journey and the lessons she has learned along the way. Anthropomorphic animals, plants, and human figures dance together on wood panels to reveal her adoration of classic literature and fables while unpacking the once-ignored underpinnings of her Mexican-Iranian identity. Kazemi’s artwork tells the story of her lifelong, ensuing growth journey, the revelations she has uncovered, and embarking on a new chapter in her life.
