About the Artist

Elizabeth Turk

Elizabeth Turk is a California artist and is represented by Hirschl & Adler Modern. In 2010 she was awarded a MacArthur Fellowship and the Anna & Barnett Newman Foundation award. Born in Pasadena and raised in Orange County, Turk received her MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art and her BA from Scripps College. She has had a distinguished career internationally and bi-coastally, and her work resides in collections including the National Museum of Women in the Arts, the Weatherspoon Gallery at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, the Mint Museum, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. In 2014-15, Laguna Art Museum presented Elizabeth Turk: Sentient Forms, which included works from the Seashell X-ray Mandala series. In 2018, Turk was the commissioned artist for the museum’s Art & Nature.
