The museum offers docent-guided tours for groups of ten to sixty visitors. Docent tours are by appointment only. The museum recommends that you book your tour two weeks in advance to reserve the date and time that works best for you and your group. If you expect to arrive late for your scheduled tour, please contact the museum front desk at 949.494.8971 x200.
Public Tours with Docents
Public tours led by experienced docents feature highlights from the museum’s current exhibitions. These tours begin at 11:00 a.m. every day the museum is open, beginning one week after an exhibition opens. No reservations are necessary, but please contact us if you are bringing a group of ten or more. Tours are free for museum members and free for non-members with museum admission.
Laguna Art Museum offers interactive school tours for all grade levels free of charge. Tours are facilitated by highly-trained docents and are designed to let students be active participants in the process of looking at, learning about, and enjoying art. The education department consults closely with teachers to ensure that thematic tours enhance classroom learning and support curriculum objectives. Whenever possible, the museum also offers an art-making activity in conjunction with a tour.
Self-guided groups are welcome, but please make a reservation in advance for groups of more than ten. Self-guided groups must provide one chaperone for every ten children and are required to stay together at all times. For ideas on preparing your group for museum visits, please contact assistant curator of education Caitlin Reller. Reservations are required one week in advance for groups of more than ten.
