Dan McCleary

b. 1952

Dan McCleary is a Los Angeles-based artist who paints figure scenes and still lifes of a seductive beauty, drawing upon his deep knowledge of revered masters of the past. During an acclaimed exhibition at the USC Fisher Museum of Art in 2015, the Los Angeles Times described him as “among the finest figurative painters working today.” His prints were the subject of of the 2017 exhibition Dan McCleary: Prints from Oaxaca at Laguna Art Museum. In addition to his work as a painter, McCleary is the founder and director of Art Division, an arts program for under-served young adults.
