Born in Pomona, California in 1951, Kim Dingle and her parents quickly moved to Los Angeles where she was raised. In 1988, Dingle graduated from California State University Los Angeles with a BFA and two years later earned a MFA from Claremont Graduate School. Her works are often scene as provocative commentary on how the roles of race, gender, and stereotypes in society define identity.
