Luke Erickson
Luke Erickson was born in 1969 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After earning a bachelor’s degree in studio art and art history from the University of Redlands, he received a master’s degree in the history of art and architecture from the University of Illinois-Chicago. Erickson has developed a photographic style characterized by documentary black and white images depicting the natural environment and its transformation over time. His work often contains undertones of environmental decay and man-made encroachment. Beyond photography, Luke Erickson also teaches at the University of St. Thomas and works as an art curator and photography curator for the Foundation for the Exhibition of Photography.
