Peter Shelton is an American sculptor born in 1951 in Troy, Ohio, but he has lived and worked in Los Angeles since 1971. Through his work he explores the qualities of materials themselves, as he translates objects into different materials and plays around with the idea of multiplicity. He works with a variety of materials, including metals, glass, cement, water, paint, and fiberglass, which contributes to the incongruous and surprising nature of his sculptures.
