Of Garbo, Hurrell said in 1980: “You could light Garbo’s face in any manner possible. Any angle, up, down, her proportions were ideal. Her forehead, her nose, the distance between her eyes and brows, and the way her eyes were set. It was all perfect. . . . She had her own rather austere manner of posing. She was actually a happy dame by nature. That was the image she wanted seen.”
