This photograph was taken on a sound stage at the new Walt Disney Studios in Burbank. Many prominent animated features were produced in Burbank, during the 1940s and 1950s including Fantasia, Bambi, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, and Peter Pan. In 1943 Hurrell married Phyllis Bounds, niece of Disney’s wife Lillian. They had three children, but divorced after eleven years. Between 1958 and 1960 Hurrell worked in partnership with Disney filming TV commercials.
