About the Performers

Kayleigh Decker, mezzo-soprano

Praised for her “dulcet-toned mezzo-soprano” by the Wall Street Journal, Kayleigh Decker is fast becoming a name to watch in Europe and her native USA.

Plans for the 23/24 season include Kayleigh’s house debut for Welsh National Opera as Dorabella in a new production of Cosi fan tutte cond. Tomáš Hanus, a return to Cincinnati Opera for staged performances of Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Oratorio and cover Angelina La Cenerentola for Boston Lyric Opera. On the concert platform Kayleigh makes debuts with the San Francisco Symphony for Les Noces cond. Esa Pekka Salonen, Mozart Requiem with the orchestra of Welsh National Opera at St David’s Hall cond. Tomáš Hanus, the Messiah with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment cond. Mogens Dahl in Copenhagen and returns to Lyric Opera Chicago as a Featured Alumna in their Ryan Opera Center audition finals performance. A keen recitalist, Kayleigh performs with Soka University, the Cincinnati Song Initiative and the Pacific Vocal Series.

 

Cheryl Lin Fielding, pianist

“Warm, grand and rich”, Cheryl Lin Fielding’s pianism has taken her to some of the finest stages in the world. A sought-after recital partner and vocal coach, Fielding has been honored with the Grace B. Jackson Prize in Excellence by the Tanglewood Music Festival, recognized by the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts, and received the distinguished Gwendolyn Koldofsky Award in Keyboard Collaborative Arts. Cheryl’s musical training includes three degrees from the Juilliard School in Piano Performance and Collaborative Piano, as well as a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Keyboard Collaborative Arts from the University of Southern California with extended emphasis on vocal performance. Dr. Fielding is passionate about keeping the arts thriving in the communities and has recently produced several concerts with Parnassus Society at Soka Performing Arts Center, and is presently the Executive and Co-Artistic Director of Amaryllis Artis Productions. She is also on the coaching staff at Opera UCLA and Dolora Zajick’s Institue for Young Dramatic Voices.
