While the museum is temporarily closed, we are pleased to offer a virtual version of our Imagination Celebration! With inspiration from the museum’s current exhibitions, practice gratitude with Bala Shala Yoga for Kids, experience traditional Mexican dance and music with Ballet Folklorico de UCI, and make art with LAM+LAB at Home.
Yoga is the practice of accessing and integrating all aspects of our true nature — body, mind, and spirit — in the pursuit of inner harmony. Bala Shala Yoga for Kids is designed specifically for children using the guiding principles of yoga at a level children will understand and enjoy.
For Imagination Celebration, join instructors Staci and Makenna for a family-friendly yoga practice focusing on gratitude and inspired by Mexico!
Ballet Folklorico de UC Irvine is a student-run organization dedicated to promoting the Mexican culture and tradition through dance and music. Folklórico are Mexican dances that emphasize local folk culture. Each region has different zapateado, or footwork, with dances influenced by folklore and entwined with ballet characteristics, like pointed toes and exaggerated movements.
For Imagination Celebration, be inspired (and maybe dance along!) as Ballet Folklorico de UCI performs Danzon at their 39th Annual Spring Recital.
Each Spring, Arts Orange County presents Imagination Celebration: Orange County’s only county-wide family arts festival! Presented in partnership with the Orange County Department of Education, Imagination Celebration dynamically connects the community, arts organizations, universities, and Orange County students through meaningful arts experiences. Free admission during Imagination Celebration is made possible by a generous donation from the Laguna Art Museum Arts Council.
