Join Rich Reitzell, direct descendant of artist Jean Mannheim, as he discusses the life and art of the acclaimed California Plein Air artist. Mannheim, born in Germany & trained in Paris, moved to Pasadena in 1908 and quickly became a major figure in California’s art community. For nearly four decades, he was an active teacher, mentor, and a well-known contributor to the Southern California art scene. While a prominent member of Pasadena’s Arroyo Seco art community, Mannheim was a frequent visitor to Laguna Beach with a studio near Arch Beach, and was a member of both the Laguna Beach Art Association and the California Art Club
