What's It All About?

As part of the Art & Nature Family Festival, LAM Teaching Artist Heather Rothstain leads a sustainable book-making workshop for all ages.

Pre-registration is required. After you register for the workshop, a Zoom link will be emailed to you.

Supplies Needed
  • Grocery paper bags cut down to three 8.5 x 11-inch sheets; or three 8.5 x 11-inch sheets of recycled or scrap construction paper or printer paper
  • A rubber band (from produce you have washed, for example); or yarn or thick thread, like baker’s twine or embroidery thread
  • A thin twig or stick, around 4.5 inches
  • Single hole-puncher (hand held); or an awl, push pin, or t-pin for making holes
  • Mark-making tools such as: a pencil, colored pencils, crayons, markers
  • Tape or washi tape
  • Gluestick
  • Collected items that have fallen: fall foliage, flowers, twigs, feathers, etc.
  • Optional: water-based paint and paint brush for making prints of objects
  • Optional: stencils and stamps for additional image-making
