What's it all about?

Look Up! is a community video project that aims to bring children & families together under the canopy of an immersive art experience. Filmed from above and using colorful umbrellas to represent pixels, participants twirl, dance, and march the umbrellas around to create moving kaleidoscopic art works. Located in the Lab at LAM, after viewing the film you’ll have the opportunity to create your very own art project inspired by Look Up!

Elizabeth Turk, who is the mastermind behind this project, is also the artist who brought you the Shoreline Project in 2018 for the Laguna Art Museum’s Art & Nature event of the same year. Turk, a native Californian, received her MFA from Maryland Institute College of Art, Rinehart School of Sculpture in 1994, and her BA from Scripps College, Claremont, CA in 1983.
