What's it all about?

Gerard Basil Stripling’s move to Laguna Beach in March of 2000 coincided with his embrace of fine art and his own identity as artist. The works in this exhibition span that evolution, covering the past 22 years and demonstrating Laguna’s influence on the artist’s development. The presented works include a variety of mediums—from his early works in steel, stone, and ceramic to his more recent experimentations in bronze—bringing to light Stripling’s versatility in fabrication techniques. While Stripling’s work has been very visbile within Laguna Beach, the majority of the work on view in the exhibition has never before been seen and in some cases is newly created. The exhibition is personal as it reflects work created from the soul, by and for the artist.

Sponsorship for this exhibition was generously provided by Laura and Lou Rohl and the Joan B. Rehnborg Exhibition Fund.
