First Thursdays Art Walk celebrates the diverse cultural art scene of Laguna Beach and is free to the public with participation by more than 30 member galleries. First Thursdays Art Walk is held on the first Thursday of every month from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Preview the artworks donated by 135 artists collaborating with Laguna Art Museum to raise money in support of our mission during the 41st annual California Cool Art Auction.
Artists including Lita Albuquerque, Charles Arnoldi, Billy Al Bengston, Kelly Berg, Alex Couwenberg, Shepard Fairey, Joe Goode, David Ligare, Jean Lowe, Andy Moses, Gwynn Murrill, Fabia Panjarian, Ruth Pastine, Astrid Preston, Ed Ruscha, Fred Tomaselli and Beth Waldman have contributed works ranging from paintings to sculptures and Abstraction to plein-air.
40 artworks from Judy and Stuart Spence’s collection are on view as part of Southern California Contemporary Art: Gifts from the Stuart Spence and Judith Vida-Spence Collection. The Spences’ history of giving to Laguna Art Museum now constitutes a significant 119 artworks by California artists and has become an important part of the museum’s collection. These gifts span California Conceptualism, West Coast Pop and Los Angeles’s Lowbrow art movement with works from the 1970s to the present.
