First Thursdays Art Walk celebrates the diverse cultural art scene of Laguna Beach and is free to the public with participation by more than 30 member galleries. First Thursdays Art Walk is held on the first Thursday of every month from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
The museum offers free admission from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and docents are available for tours from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Now on view, Thomas Hunt: California Modernist brings together about fifty paintings by the masterful, innovative colorist best known for coastal and harbor scenes; Etchings by Mildred Bryant Brooks is selected from the museum’s permanent collection; and Laurie Brown: Photographs documents mankind’s relationship to the landscape in its less comfortable forms, dwelling especially on zones that form a no-man’s-land between the man-made and the natural.
From 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., enjoy a live performance by Nicholas Yrizarry. As a classical guitarist, he has performed at The John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, and for charitable organizations such as Laguna Art Museum, Laguna College of Art & Design, Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach, Richard Henry Dana Charity Regatta, Court Appointed Special Advocates of Orange County (CASA) and Project HOPE Alliance.
